Concrete Resources

Concrete for pavement surfaces are considered to be a "rigid" pavement. They can carry heavier loads and more traffic when properly designed. Expected life is designed to be 20 years, however, it is not uncommon to see these pavements last 30, 40 or 50 years. Concrete has been used to build highways, airports and other roadways throughout the world. Construction costs up front can be higher than other pavement materials, but long-term costs over 30 to 40 years can be noticeably lower. Concrete surfaces can be grooved to provide a durable skid resistant surface in wet or wintery conditions.
