Description

To become a presentation pro, we will

  • Break down presentation challenges and learn simple tips for success
  • Develop your own presentation style
  • Learn how to engage an audience
  • Master the steps to becoming a Presentation Pro: growth, loving the stress, preparation, sharing a story/passion, self-assessment, show and tell, 10,000-foot start, three main issues, power of the pause, presentation cadence and more

Class participants will receive a copy of Matt Abrahamson’s book, Speaking Up without Freaking Out” before the class. Reading the book ahead of time will help jump-start your classroom learning.

In class we will review your current presentation style, PowerPoints, presentation notes and work on growth plans. Participants will work through a couple sample presentation projects.

Speaker(s)

Amy Biese. Amy is the team lead for research and pavement design at the North Dakota Department of Transportation. She is a registered professional engineer in the state of North Dakota and a graduate of NDSU. Amy is passionate about promoting technical topics with her colleagues through verbal communication.

Dale Heglund, Dale is the director of the ND Local Technical Assistance Program where he coordinates a broad array of training programs for local transportation professionals. He regularly provides training on leadership and professional development.
