Description
The Employee Safety Awareness training will provide participants with a general awareness of safety in the workplace and at home. These are the topics that will be covered in this training:
CPR-AED
First-aid procedures and how to assess and treat minor injuries including wounds, burns, sprains, and broken bones.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):
- When it is necessary
- What kind is necessary
- How to properly put it on, adjust, wear, and take it off
- The limitations of the equipment
- Proper care, maintenance, useful life, and disposal of the equipment
Fall Prevention participants will be able to: - Identify where fall protection is needed
- Describe the various fall protection systems
- Explain controlled access zones
- Explain guardrail system requirements
- Describe the parts of a personal fall arrest system (PFAS)
- Describe safety net and warning line systems.
Speaker(s)
Steve Fischer, North Dakota AGC Safety Director, joined the AGC team in November of 2021. He retired from the ND Highway Patrol in 2020 after a 21 ½ career and had about 25 ½ years total in law enforcement. Steve instructs a variety of Construction Industry Safety Courses, which can be found on the AGC of ND website. He is a lifelong resident of ND, who grew up in Ashley, ND. Steve graduated from NDSU with degrees in Sociology and Social Science.
